I’d like to offer a bit of an outsider’s perspective on this. I am Kaleena’s sister-in-law (Tyler’s sister) and I can attest to the fact that she is a wonderful, loving mother. She adores her daughters, and they adore her. Her youngest, the one she experienced postpartum psychosis with, is an unabashed mama’s girl. The behavior and thoughts she experienced while suffering from postpartum depression and psychosis have absolutely nothing to do with who she is – an incredibly loving, kind, funny, imaginative and thoughtful mother (and aunt, my own daughter adores her Aunt Kaleena). For anyone currently going through this sickness, if you fear you will never bond with your child and all hope is lost, please know there is light, and love, at the end of the tunnel.

thank you for sharing! it is so important for moms to know that recovery from PPD and psychosis is a beginning, not an ending.
